The conceptual design of the liquid hydrogen cargo tank is developed to meet the boil-off rate requirements. The tank capacity is approximately 154,000 cbm. In order to realize modularity concept, the insulation system was divided into three layers and the concept of installing unit insulation panels on each layer is introduced. The barrier for the safe storage of liquid hydrogen is installed in two layers, and the barriers are made of stainless steel, which have been proven to have excellent hydrogen compatibility and mechanical strength in the liquid hydrogen environment. The two barriers have a corrugated structure to counteract shrinkage at low temperatures.
