Life Cycle Assessment of Solutions (LCA)

This task led by University of Strathclyde will evaluate the environmental impact, regarding both the prototype and the alternative containment systems solutions, taking cognizance of the relevant metrics and KPIs. Life Cycle Assessment of Solutions (LCA) will holistically investigate the currently most concerned environmental issues. It will cover all activities from cradle to grave of the Cargo Containment Systems (CCS) to identify and quantify the concerned pollutants from other Work Packages and will develop a Life Cycle Emission Inventory (LCI).

Applying LCA methods (CML, ReCiPe and ILCD etc.), the impacts of the pollutants in the LCI will be determined and summarized in categories such as Global Warming Potential (GWP), Acidification Potential (AP) etc. A sensitivity analysis will be conducted for various parameters.
