Disruptive Materials and Technologies for Sustainable Products: An Update

The progress that is being made in this task relating to the identification of the Disruptive Materials and Technologies for Sustainable Products is related to the work being done in two different areas. Firstly, a gathering of properties of insulation materials is being carried out with the aim of assessing the feasibility of their implementation in the tank structure. Particular importance is given to the transfer of knowledge from other fields such as aeronautics and construction. A significant number of material has been collected so far from the research that is currently underway. In parallel, a tool is being developed to assess the sustainability of these materials when used in design. To this end, metrics and performance indicators are developed for both technical performance and environmental, economic, social and circular economy indicators.
