Pushing Toward Zero Emissions: HYDRUS Engineering S.A. showcases LH2CRAFT at “Maritime Decarbonisation in Action: EU-Funded Innovation & Collaboration”

Alexandros Giannakis, Senior Engineer at Hydrus Engineering S.A., represented both the LH2CRAFT and NH3CRAFT projects at the event “Maritime Decarbonisation in Action: EU-Funded Innovation & Collaboration”, held on 3 July 2025 in Istanbul, Türkiye.

In a dedicated 30-minute session titled “Towards Zero-Emission Shipping: Ammonia and Hydrogen Storage Solutions”, he delivered a joint presentation outlining the objectives and technical advancements of LH2CRAFT and NH3CRAFT projects.

Organised by Elkon Electric under the umbrella of the BlueBARGE project, the event served as a dynamic platform for dialogue and collaboration among EU-funded project teams, academic institutions, industry stakeholders, and technology providers. It provided a valuable forum for the exchange of knowledge and discussion on innovative technologies supporting the decarbonisation transition in the maritime sector. Participants engaged in conversations on the future of shipping and the strategic actions required to enable a sustainable and low-emission industry.

The event focused primarily on the following thematic pillars:

  • The deployment and integration of alternative fuels
  • The transformative role of digitalisation
  • Insights from industrial leaders and BlueBARGE project partners, including ABS, Hydrus, and Fundación Valenciaport

We would like to extend our sincere thanks to Elkon Electric and the BlueBARGE consortium for their kind invitation and for organising such a valuable and well-structured event.
