Unveiling a Legacy of Excellence: Actemium NDT E&S and the LH2CRAFT Project

For over five decades, Actemium NDT E&S, formerly known as Cegelec NDT, has been at the forefront of LNG carrier inspections. Since our inception in 1971, we have collaborated on a multitude of vessel designs, including NO 82, NO 85, NO 88, NO 96, Mark I, and Mark III, as well as the SC1 types. Our work extends to the realm of LNG storage, with a significant footprint in France and a presence in shipyards worldwide.

Our journey has taken us to renowned shipyards, including Chantiers de l’Atlantique (France), La Ciotat (France), Dunkerque (France), La Seyne (France), Boelwerf (Belgium), Mitsui (Japan), Hyundai (South Korea), Samsung Heavy Industries (South Korea), Bilbao (Spain), STX (South Korea), and Dalian (China). These collaborations have allowed us to play a pivotal role in ensuring the structural integrity of vessels, assuring safety and performance.

For 52 years, we have fostered a strong and enduring partnership with industry giants like Gaz Transport, Technic Gaz, and GTT. Together, we’ve strived to continually enhance leak testing methods, propelling safety standards to new heights. Our dedicated and highly qualified staff exhibit unmatched reactivity when it comes to supporting shipyard operations.

Since 1971, Cegelec NDT, now Actemium NDT, has conducted rigorous tightness tests on over 117 LNG carriers during their construction. Our commitment to maintaining the highest standards of safety and quality in LNG carrier construction is unwavering. Our legacy extends to maintenance as well. More than 500 LNG carriers have undergone our meticulous inspections and requalification processes, bearing testimony to our deep-rooted expertise in the realm of non-destructive testing on LNG tankers.

With the global shift towards green energy, including hydrogen, Actemium NDT and Vinci are strategically positioning themselves in the realms of hydrogen production, transport, and storage. As technology advances, our commitment to excellence remains, with our involvement in the development of hydrogen carriers being a testament to our continuous evolution.

Together with the LH2CRAFT Project, we’re setting the stage for a cleaner and more sustainable world!
