DeliverableD5.1 – Concept and Basic & Detailed Engineering Design of the HDMSS presents the engineering development of the liquid hydrogen handling, distribution, monitoring and safety systems for the LH2CRAFT carrier. It covers the operational philosophy for loading, storage, voyage and unloading, together with the system architecture, process and instrumentation diagrams, cargo pumps, compressors, vaporizers, boil-off gas management, safety, monitoring and emergency shutdown systems. The report also includes port transfer infrastructure considerations, piping and material calculations, system-performance simulations, and the integration of safety and risk-assessment findings, establishing the technical basis for the safe and efficient operation of the vessel’s LH₂ cargo systems.
