The objective of the first task of work package 4 (WP4), led by HYDRUS, is to evaluate the preliminary ship design which shall accommodate safely and seamlessly the LH2 cargo containment system (CCS). In this task, the selection of the ship’s principal dimensions, operating requirement and key principles has been concluded. Also, based on the HAZID workshop conducted in Trieste in June 2024, several hull design aspects have been examined and valuable comments have been raised. Based on these comments this task proceeds with the optimization of the hull design, loading conditions as well as the propulsion power examination.
